Zebra in Etosha National Park, Namibië. Fine Art wildlife portret Stillness door Julia Eilert

SIGNATURE PRINT ON PREMIUM FINE ART PHOTO PAPER · LIMITED EDITION OF 25

Stillness

Some images catch your attention. This one holds it

Stillness is a black-and-white zebra print, photographed in Etosha National Park, Namibia. No rolling landscape, no herd, just her head. Her stripes become almost graphic, giving the image a calm, striking presence.

She stands slightly angled toward you, turning her head just enough to look you straight in the eye. That gaze gives her something distinct, as if she's just as curious about who's looking at her.

The combination of black-and-white and the light background makes this zebra print timeless and easy to combine with different interior styles. Beautiful in a Scandinavian living room, a bright hallway, or a home office where a bit of extra inspiration is always welcome.

Which size is right for you?

The right size depends not only on the wall space you have available, but also on the distance from which you'll view the piece.

A good rule of thumb: minimum viewing distance = image diagonal x2. The larger the piece, the more distance you need to let the image come into its own.

The story behind the photo

This photo was taken during my very first safari. I had no idea what to expect, and I knew absolutely nothing about wildlife photography yet. This shot is a true example of a lucky shot.

But something changed during that first safari trip. I discovered how special it is to see wild animals in their natural habitat. Africa changed the way I looked at the life I wanted to lead. I just didn't know yet exactly how.

Now, years later, that moment has shaped how I see safari and photography. It's the reason I keep returning to Africa: to spend as much time as possible in the bush, keep learning to understand animal behavior, and keep developing my photography.

Behind the lens

Hi, I’m Julia Eilert, a wildlife photographer from the Netherlands with a deep love for Africa. What began as an internship in Cape Town grew into a life where I hope to spend as much time as possible in the African bush.

During every safari, I’m searching for images that reveal character and tell a story. A look, a posture, a fleeting moment that keeps pulling you in. I don’t just want you to see what I saw; I want you to feel what I felt. That’s what I try to capture during the long, quiet hours I spend in the bush.

Wildlife photography is special to me because it demands patience, presence and the ability to recognise the moment the instant it appears.

When one of my images becomes a Fine Art print on your wall, I hope it becomes more than a beautiful photograph. I hope you discover something new every time you look at it, that you feel the tension, stillness or adrenaline I experienced myself, and that it carries you straight into the African wilderness.
